What You Can Expect:

• Research, development and design activities in Daimler Bus Development / Department- Exterior & Body-in-White for “next generation coaches” project.
• Developing body-in-white concept, structures and parts considering internal and external/legal requirements and functions.
• Ensure vehicle body structure against passive safety requirements such as rollover, crash, and pendulum testing regulations and specifications by considering cost and weight countermeasures.
• Drive innovation in cost, weight, and sustainability optimization through creative engineering solutions.
• Researching customer-oriented solutions and monitoring of realization of measurements until implementation of vehicle.
• Analyzing and evaluating concepts to ensure cost and weight in all development phases.
• Participation in project groups for the development of next generation coach concept and independent processing of work packages.
• Planning and monitoring the resources, budget and schedule for your product area of ​​responsibility and ensure that the goals are achieved on time and within budget.
• Oversee/supervise parts from concept phase to release, provide support during the product usage phase.
• Provide development support and collaborate with relevant departments across all Daimler Bus global locations

That’s Why You Are a Match:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Metallurgical and Materials Engineering / Automotive Engineering (BSc/ MSc/PhD). Specialization in vehicle technology/construction is an advantage.
• Strong expertise in tube, sheet metal, forging, and casting part modeling for vehicle body design.
• Significant experiences with steel materials and production methods, structural strength and durability in automotive industry.
• Solid background in finite element analysis (FEA) interpretation and optimization for weight and cost efficiency
• In-depth knowledge of welding and corrosion prevention in vehicle bodies
• Familiarity with SAFe Agile methodologies
• Proficient with CAD & PLM software (NX, Catia V5, Team Center or equivalent etc.)
• Goal-oriented team player, analytical thinker, highly motivated, self-starter who is passionate about inventing the next coach generation of Daimler Bus,
• Strong customer focus and setting up customer satisfaction as a priority with a proactive approach.
• Excellent intercultural communication and coordination skills.
