Engineer at Body in White (BiW) / Exterior

What You Can Expect:

• Research, development and design activities in Daimler Bus Development / Department- Exterior & Body-in-White for “zero emission vehicle class 1+ class 2” project.
• Developing exterior & body-in-white concept, structures and parts considering internal and external/legal requirements and functions.
• Contribution to project targets from weight, cost, and sustainability perspective with new creative and innovative ideas.
• Researching sustainable and customer-oriented solutions and monitoring of realization of measurements until implementation of vehicle.
• Analyzing and evaluating concepts to ensure durability of frame structure in all development phases.
• Participation in project groups for the development of new zero emission city bus concept and independent processing of work packages.
• Oversee/supervise parts from concept phase until release, later also during product usage phase.
• Development support and collaboration with relevant areas in all Daimler Bus locations.

That’s Why You Are a Match:

• Knowledge or experience in the design of vehicle Exterior & Body-in-White. Experiences of tool technology, plastics technology and manufacturing technology in automotive industry are asset.
• Good knowledge and expertise for sustainable materials and processes regarding reuse/recycle/reduce principles for newly developed designs and used in mechanical contexts in accordance.
• Good experiences with SAFe agile working method
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Metallurgical and Materials Engineering / Automotive Engineering (BSc./MSc.). Specialization in vehicle technology/construction is an advantage.
• Proficient with CAD & PLM software (NX, Catia V5, Team Center or equivalent etc.)
• Goal-oriented team player, analytical thinker, highly motivated, self-starter who is passionate about inventing the next city bus generation of Daimler Bus,
• Customer focus and set up customer satisfaction as a priority with a pro-active approach.
• Intercultural communication and coordination skills.
• Fluent written and spoken German and/or English skills.
• Completed military service for male applicants.
• No travel restriction.
